Life is a takeaway commodity. Joseph Brodsky. "Theater. Takeaway": The story of a construction hoax on Vasilyevsky Island Life is a takeaway product

IN

Lately the name of Joseph Brodsky began, as it were, to be elevated to a cult. Perhaps, like the last one on at the moment internationally recognized great Russian poet. Monuments to him are being erected one after another, films are being made about him, and recently the Taganka Theater staged another play about the poet.

The laureate was chosen for the main and only role international awards Igor Pekhovich is a person who is fluent in both playing technique and improvisation. Also, throughout the entire performance, double bassist Vadim Pravilov is on stage, occasionally setting the rhythm with his dull accompaniment.
During the performance, the actor goes through different states, reading Brodsky’s poems, now in a quick half-whisper, now breaking into a scream, now singing individual words, now snapping his fingers to the rhythm of the double bass, switching to recitative. In one hour, Piechovich shows that he can be anyone - a sublime symbol in a wreath of laurels and a tunic, and an equally romantic lonely recluse, maddened by the space of the room, and a dancer, and a sufferer. Controlling his voice and illustrating his words with grotesque gestures and disguises, he changes the pathos of the classics to light notes of jazz or the darkness of loneliness.

All this looks quite colorful and expressive. But by the middle of the performance, the viewer has already become so accustomed to the constant metamorphoses of the character that he is no longer able to hold the attention of the audience, and the transition to the ending turns out to be, on the contrary, so calm and smoothed out from the previous episode that it does not immediately become clear that “this is it - all it's over."

The main question that arises after watching “Life...” is: Is this Brodsky? Yes, and in general, is it possible to read this poet out loud, and if so, how exactly? After all, all this exaggerated riot of drama does not fit at all with the world of a self-contained, rather calm, but internally tense poet. Anyone who has ever heard audio recordings of Brodsky reading his poems knows that it is difficult to understand the meaning of what he hears. The poet's intonation and the music of sounds alone speak much more about his internal complexity, about his tasks and decisions. It is clear that on stage in this way it is impossible to hold the attention of the audience for a long time, but this fact does not mean that the actor should go to the opposite extreme of meticulously chewing the text, breaking down the meaning in order to make it more understandable in a simplified form.

The apparent minimalism of the production (one actor, no scenery, minimal accompaniment) is destroyed by Pekhovich's slightly masquerade disguises and excessive theatricality of gestures, sounds and accents. As a conclusion from all of the above, the production is very controversial: it contains many both successful and unjustified moments, which raise many important questions.

Director: Igor Pekhovich

Performance-jazz

Solo performance by Igor Pekhovich - laureate of International festivals (Moscow 1996, Kyiv 2002, THESPIS 2004), participant international festivals“Monocle” 1997 in St. Petersburg and “Constellation” 2003 in Riga.

Participants: Igor Pekhovich - actor of the Moscow Taganka Theater, Vadim Pravilov - double bass.

From the press: “Igor Pekhovich is truly a “one-man orchestra.” He turns traditional recitation into a vibrant theatrical performance - as if there is not one, but dozens of actors on stage, and it is not a monologue that sounds, but a conversation between many people. Bizarre, tragic, with a violent temperament, with an idyllic wreath on his tousled hair, wrapped in a white sheet - either a toga or a straitjacket - he convinces with every word, every sound of a deep, rich, almost singing voice. Pekhovich does not allow the audience to get bored for a minute and forces them to follow the poetic word as if they were following an intense crime plot. But not only and not so much with the plasticity and directorial discoveries that Pekhovich’s skill amazes. Perhaps the main advantage of the performance is the discovery of a new Brodsky, as it were. His complex philosophical poetry becomes surprisingly understandable. The combination of jazz improvisations with Brodsky's poetry gives an unexpected effect, clarifying the content of the poems and imparting energy to them. It is from rhythm that the image of Time and the image of the Poet emerge - a free person challenging Time. Pekhovich is accompanied on double bass by the excellent musician Vadim Pravilov. But it’s hard to even call it an accompaniment - music is the fabric of the performance, the millstones of Time, grinding a person into dust. Resistance to this is the life of a person, remaining in letters on a sheet...”

Duration: 50 minutes without intermission

This week representatives theater project"Theater. Takeaway" spread surprising information: workers who were building a site for the project on Vasilievsky Island allegedly unearthed the remains of a baby woolly rhinoceros - because of this, construction of the space was suspended. Theater director Danil Vachegin even said that he and his colleagues jokingly christened the find Yosei - in honor of Joseph Brodsky, “who once promised that he would come to die on Vasilyevsky Island.” Many people inadvertently believed this news (including, we admit,).

Now it’s clear: both the rhinoceros and, most importantly, the construction of the theater itself are a hoax in the spirit of the famous TV story by Sergei Kuryokhin and Sergei Sholokhov “Lenin - Mushroom”. At the same time, the “Theater” itself. Takeaway" still exists, and viewers praise its productions. We tell you everything that is known about the prank and what is actually being built on the 11th line of Vasilyevsky Island.

Shield

An information board about the construction of a theater at 11th Line V.O., 56, appeared in November 2017. The space was supposed to be built by the beginning of 2019. The Muscovites Concern MonArkh and Mosproekt-2 are indicated as the general contractor and designer. At the time of publication of the material, the companies did not respond to the request. The Village.

But the “customer” of the construction responded - the press service of the Russian Ministry of Culture reported that they did not have information about such an object: “The incorrect emblem of our department is depicted on the shield (the official symbols can be found at the link). According to information received from the Northwestern Directorate for Construction, Reconstruction and Restoration, it also does not have a construction project at the specified address. Based on this, we can conclude that the presented shield is not real and has nothing to do with the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.”

They began to suspect that the construction story was most likely a joke back in November. The relevant committees of Smolny - the Culture Committee, the KGA, the Construction Committee - told The Village that they knew nothing about the construction of a theater at the specified address. “The Committee lacks information about the theater; no documents were received for consideration,” noted, in particular, the press service of the KGA. And the press service of the Culture Committee suggested that the story “looks like a fake.”

According to the State Construction Supervision and Expertise Service of St. Petersburg, construction is indeed underway on the 11th line of V.O., 56 - but not a theater, but a residential building. Gosstroynadzor also reported that they “obliged the developer of an apartment building on the 11th line of Vasilyevsky Island to dismantle the false information board” that “misled citizens.” “The construction organization itself was brought to administrative responsibility in the form of a warning,” noted the organization’s press service. Service spokeswoman Anna Friedenthal explained to The Village that it was the theater's information board that was dismantled. And Dom na 11th LLC was brought to justice, since it is this organization that must monitor the maintenance of the construction site, including the fence.

House

The fate of the site itself with the non-existent theater construction site is also not easy. In 2011, it was purchased for 110 million rubles by a certain Andrei Likhachev. It later turned out that the buyer acted in the interests of the co-owner of the Adamant holding, billionaire Evgeny Gurevich. Six months later, Gurevich said that he would build a residential building on the acquired plot.

In 2015, Dom na 11th LLC was registered. In 2016, the developer received permission to build two buildings of the Heart of the Island residential complex. In November of the same year, the buildings located on the site (including pre-revolutionary outbuildings) were demolished. At the same time, the Kanoner publication noted that the planned building would be higher than the adjacent buildings. The six-story building was designed by the Architectural Bureau “A. Flax" by Sergei Oreshkin (at the time of publication did not respond to The Village's request). The complex was planned to be put into operation in the second quarter of 2018.

None since 2016 new information there was no information about the construction of the residential complex. “A lot of time has passed, but the new building on the 11th line, 56a, as it was a mystery, remains so,” they report on specialized resources. Publicly, the developer refuses to comment not only on the story with the Theater. Takeaway" and a rhinoceros, but also the status of the object itself on Vasilyevsky Island.

Previously, the project developer was the Doverie group of companies. The head of the press service, Alexandra Sablina, told The Village: “At the moment, the agreement with the owner of the land plot has expired. However, it included a non-disclosure agreement, according to which Doverie Group of Companies could not disclose information about the project. We have no information regarding the construction of the theater.”

Eyewitnesses who visited 56 11th Line told The Village that the information board about the construction of the theater was no longer there. But on the fence hangs a passport for the property, announcing the construction of a residential building “with built-in premises and underground parking.” However, there are still no signs of construction behind the fence.

Theater

On March 11, on the eve of the discovery of the remains of a baby woolly rhinoceros on Vasilievsky Island, Polina Prokofieva, a student of the theater studies department at St. Petersburg State Academy of Theater Arts, wrote to the editors of The Village. She sent her interview with the artistic director of the Theatre. Takeaway" by Alexey Ershov. Among other things, at the beginning of the interview, Alexey says that he participated in the project “Purpose of the Visit” directed by Mikhail Patlasov. Mikhail himself, when asked by The Village to characterize Alexei Ershov, replied: “Everything they say and do is a fake, created for PR.”

Kanoner editor-in-chief Dmitry Ratnikov indicates, that the “legal entity of the State Budgetary Institution “Theater”. Take-out does not exist" (The Village was also unable to find a government budgetary institution crops with a similar name).

A plot of land in the heart of Vasilyevsky Island is once again becoming a stumbling block. Street art project "Theatre. Na Vynos” announced that the future building would house a theater, but the city authorities and the official developer had not even heard about it.

The other day the management of the “Theater. Na Vynos announced that allegedly the general contractor JSC Concert Monarch notified them of the suspension of construction at the facility, which is located at the 11th line of V.O. , house 56, due to the discovery of the remains of a baby woolly rhinoceros in the ground.

Project director Danil Vachegin so convincingly told everyone a heartbreaking story, saying that because of an archaeological find, the theater could lose the building it was counting on. It was assumed that construction would be completed before the end of this year.

According to artistic director Alexey Ershov, the project has already prepared a unique program and entered into contracts with artists and directors from Russia and neighboring countries. However, the unexpected news about the found remains of Yossi the rhinoceros threw everything down the drain.

Director of the Theatre. Takeaway" clarified that in connection with archaeological excavations Now it is unclear whether the project will even be located in this picturesque place.

“We have a federal order, and who owns the building and the site is decided by the Construction Committee,”

— Vachegin assured the Moika78 correspondent.

However, the director did not say who and when issued the official document to the theater. The theater director also ignored requests to send a copy of the document or comment on it in any way.

On the passport of the object demonstrated by the theater, the “North-Western Directorate for the construction and reconstruction of cultural objects” was listed as the state customer.

The press service of the department told Moika78 that the shield about which we're talking about, not real: “The Directorate does not have a construction project on Vasilievsky Island, 11 line, no. 56. Of course, perhaps the city Construction Committee has other information.”

However, a call to the administration did not yield positive results. The committee said: “No work is being carried out in this area. In addition, we only deal with AIP objects.”

Moika 78 turned to the Monarch group of companies for clarification. "Theater. To Take Out" calls this organization the general contractor. The St. Petersburg branch told us that construction work was not being carried out on Vasilyevsky Island.

“We have the only facility in St. Petersburg - a complex in the village of Murino. Of course, we are a group of companies, so it is possible that some organization is involved in the project, but certainly not Monarch St. Petersburg. In the Moscow office, the Moika78 correspondent was switched from operator to operator several times, but in the end no one picked up the phone.

According to the State Construction Supervision and Expertise Service of St. Petersburg, there really is a building permit at this address. But it was issued for the construction of a residential building. The developer is listed as Dom na 11th LLC.

The website of the real estate portal novostroy.su also says that the developer of the residential complex “Heart of the Island”, which should be located at the above address, is “House on 11th”. At the same time, the buildings of the complex were planned to be commissioned in the 2nd-3rd quarter of 2018.

The above-mentioned company knows nothing about the construction. The girl on the other end of the line said in a surprised tone: “There’s no house there at all.” And then she added that she did not have the authority to disclose information about the facility.

At the same time, the media wrote that several years ago billionaire Evgeniy Gurevich, co-owner of the Adamant holding, became the owner of a land plot on Vasilyevsky Island. We sent a request for construction to the company, they promised to answer us. However, so far Moika78 has not received information from the Adamant holding.
