Thai fried chicken with cashews. Chinese cashew chicken: preparing a delicious dish at home Tori no kasu recipe as in tanuki

Today, when beauty and health are almost a cult, proper nutrition has become the most popular system that many people adhere to. Nuts and meat are the basis of a healthy diet, so Thai cashew chicken will perfectly complement healthy recipes, and besides, it’s not at all difficult to prepare it yourself. But before you eat or cook something new, you need to calculate the BJU, in our case the calorie content of the dish is 137 kcal, proteins - 8 grams, fats - 8 grams and carbohydrates - 7 grams.

Only the Thais are able to successfully and truly tasty combine in their original recipes seemingly absolutely incompatible tastes, such as sweetness, acidity and spiciness in Thai chicken with nuts.

Thai chicken, or as it is called in Thailand - “Gai Pad Med Mamuang”, like any traditional Asian treat, is replete with spices and sauces that give the dish a simply indescribable aroma and incomparable taste.

Chicken with cashews: preparatory stage

  • Cashews for cooking should be taken raw, unsalted and preferably fresh. But if you can’t find other cashews besides “beer nuts,” then these will do. The main condition is no seasonings other than salt.
  • Chili peppers should be hot and fresh. But if you can’t eat too spicy food, then you can replace the chili with dried sweet pods, which will only add the desired aroma to the dish, but not “pepperiness”.
  • It will be great if you find palm sugar for the recipe, but if you don’t have it, you can replace it with cane sugar, or, at worst, with simple refined sugar.

  • If you want to give the dish a Chinese touch, you can add shiitake mushrooms, which are used in a similar Chinese dish called “Kung Pao Chicken.”
  • Thai chicken contains three types of sauce: regular soy sauce, fish sauce and oyster sauce.
  • Oyster sauce is very tasty, but you need to choose a good quality product that is dark in color and thick. “Cheap” oyster sauce has a reddish tint and frankly smells of ketchup and synthetic flavors.
  • Fish sauce has a very repulsive smell in its pure form, but its aroma is absolutely not noticeable in dishes. And fish sauce is added to all Thai dishes as a natural flavor enhancer, which it does an excellent job of.

Kai Pad Met Ma Muang or fried chicken with cashews in Russian is another Thai dish that I received the recipe for while studying at culinary school. I have already mentioned more than once that when visiting Thailand, I highly recommend taking cooking classes there. They don’t last very long, but during this time you manage to prepare several dishes with your own hands, which means you remember and understand the process itself, try the recipe in practice, which is undoubtedly important so that the result is as similar as possible to a real Thai dish. Also, after training, you will receive a certificate of completion of the course and a book with recipes for the most popular Thai dishes.

Fried chicken with cashews is usually served along with boiled rice.
I really liked that despite the word “fried” in the title, it actually turns out to be a very healthy food. My photographs show that the chicken is not at all crispy and oozing with fat, as is usually meant by this word in European countries. The dish is more like stewed or steamed, and the vegetables retain their beneficial properties. This is great for people who prefer healthy, light food, and it’s useful for everyone;)
