A street art skating rink will open in Gorky Park. The central skating rink opened in Gorky Park. Central installation “Frozen Fountain”

On November 17, the Street Art Skating Rink will open in Gorky Park, in which street art will appear in all possible formats - from stickers and stencils to wall painting, graphics and even space modification.

Today, street art has become an integral part of the city's visual culture, and its various directions will be embodied in the space of the capital's central skating rink. Famous Russian artists realize their fantasies by designing skate rental pavilions inside and outside, cash boxes, subscriptions and a central installation. One of the ice alleys (alley of arts near the Museum contemporary art"Garage") will turn into a dynamic light tunnel, consisting of a dozen shimmering arches and a length of 60 meters.

The central installation of the Skating Rink will be a frozen fountain. At night, the fluorescent “streams of water” will sparkle with ultraviolet reflections, and during the day, iridescent different colors segments of its outer surface. The height of the installation is 8 meters, the diameter is 25 meters, which almost completely corresponds to the scale of the summer fountain.

Interesting fact: To design the inner “core” and outer surface of the “Frozen Fountain”, the architects used the principle of the Shukhov Tower and the Chebyshev network. Individual segments are filled with plastic with a “chameleon” effect. At night, the tubes glow due to fluorescent paint, and dynamic spotlights are directed at the colored inserts.

The skating rink in Gorky Park is one of the largest skating rinks in Europe with an artificial all-weather surface. Its area is more than 18,000 m2 and its capacity is up to 4,000 people. Every year, fifteen ticket offices, five rental pavilions and a souvenir shop operate at the skating rink. The alleys have five zones with 33,000 LEDs embedded under the ice, and five ice machines, three tractors and four snow blowers work daily to keep the ice clean and smooth.

Opening program:

  • 19:00 – 21:00 – Deep Fried Friends Party. Five young DJs - Vanya, Lesha, Arthur, Arseny and Marco - are shaking nightlife capital for the fourth year already. During this period, noisy parties in the capital's bars managed to develop into full-scale music programs at the largest music festivals Moscow (BOSCO FRESH FEST, Afisha Picnic). For the opening of the Street Art Skating Rink in Gorky Park, Deep Fried Friends will not only organize their most unusual party - on ice - but, being architects, will create the design main stage, where they will perform.
  • 21:15 – 23:00 – The headliner on stage is the British band NZCA Lines. NZCA Lines (pronounced Naz-Kuh Lines) - ancient hieroglyphics in southern Peru, as well as the name music project singer Michael Lovett and producer Charlie Alex March. In January 2016, the second album of the “Peruvian” project – Infinite Summer – was released. The album was recorded together with English singer and multi-instrumentalist Charlotte Hatherley and Hot Chip member Sarah Jones. While creating the album, the musicians were inspired by the works of Arthur C. Clarke and Philip K. Dick. “We are glad that our first visit to Moscow, and to Russia in general, is associated with the opening of the ice rink. And even in Central Park. We believe that we can melt the ice with our music and energy. Just kidding, we won’t melt the ice! In anticipation, we think about the pleasure everyone who will skate and listen to our music will receive at the same time. We don’t know how to skate ourselves, but apparently it’s time to get on the ice. See you soon in Gorky Park in Moscow!” admits Michael Lovett.

The host of the evening will be Vladimir Marconi, a famous TV and radio presenter, co-author of Reutov-TV and the Evening Urgant show, author of popular columns in Maxim magazine.

The skating rink in Gorky Park will open with a ceremony on November 17, the theme of the season is street art. What's New: Additional entrance and exit, no deposit for skates, graffiti everywhere and parties every week. We have collected all the relevant information in one material.

The Gorky Park skating rink has busy plans for its sixth season. Ice rink opens here one of the first(skating rink in Sokolniki is already working, but in test mode), that means that’s it, winter has come, and soon New Year, and we. How will one of the largest skating rinks in Moscow and throughout Europe surprise visitors this time?

If you come on opening day, you can ride to a DJ set and be the first to judge (with several thousand people) new style skating rink and infrastructure that was built for the winter season of Gorky Park. We will tell you exactly what will happen below, but for now, save the holiday program schedule somewhere.

Events during the season

If you didn’t make it to the opening, it doesn’t matter, this is just the beginning of the holidays and events, of which there will be many at the skating rink in the winter.

Every week in Gorky Park there will be a DJ party. You are on the ice, he is at the controls in the food court area. Everyone is happy :).

All winter long at the skating rink in Gorky Park you will be diligently taught how to skate well. Opens November 28th and will be open all winter figure skating school and free hockey school for children (capacity – 40 people). Look for an ice partner until January: at this time a special ice group will open figure skating for couples (another date idea).

Otherwise, the concept will remain the same: alleys for speed lovers and beginners, a children's skating rink and a hockey rink.

What it will look like

The most intriguing thing this year is what design and navigation they came up with for the Gorky Park skating rink this time. Having identified the theme of street art, the management invited a whole team of street artists.

Art at the Gorky Park skating rink will appear in all possible formats - from stickers and stencils to wall painting, graphics and even space modification. I took on the development of the concept of the skating rink Alexey Kio together with the team ZUK Club, who were engaged in the design of rental pavilions. The area under the ice will be painted with graffiti, each building will correspond to the theme, and all this will be complemented by street installations.

This season will change completely skating rink lighting– instead of hanging lanterns above the ice alleys, luminous geometric figures will appear, 33,000 LEDs will be built under the ice on five ice skating rinks, and additional lighting will appear in the area between the central rental pavilions.

Central installation “Frozen Fountain” – an interesting art object designed according to the principle of the Shukhov Tower and Chebyshev’s network. Individual segments of the installation are filled with plastic with a “chameleon” effect. At night, the “streams of water” will shimmer due to fluorescent paint and spotlights, and during the day, multi-colored segments of its outer surface will add dynamics to the frozen fountain. The installation height is 8 meters, diameter is 25 meters.

One of the ice alleys (alley of arts near the Museum of Modern Art " Garage") will turn into dynamic light tunnel, consisting of a dozen shimmering arches and a length of 60 meters. “Garage” generally fits very well into the concept of street art; to connect it with the skating rink, a pedestrian bridge was built for visitors.

They will also open a skating rink in Gorky Park illuminated ice labyrinth, reminiscent of the northern lights. At the end of the maze - coffee house Jacobs Monarch, where you can drink free coffee and stay warm. There will be interactive photo zones and a separate area for celebrating the New Year, Christmas and Maslenitsa. One detail is that the opening hours of the lodge have not yet been confirmed, so you won’t always be able to treat yourself to coffee.

Ticket price

The sale of online tickets has already opened on the Gorky Park website (many remember the queues at the box office). Prices this year range from 200 rubles for a morning session on a weekday to 550 rubles on Sunday evening.

There are subscription offers for 5 sessions. Their cost from 10:00 to 23:00 is 3,250 rubles. (Any day except Monday and New Year's Eve)

You can enter the skating rink through pavilion No. 5 using a “Troika” card; just tap it on the turnstile.

Pledge for rental this year canceled because they have modernized the access system and you won’t be able to “accidentally” take your skates with you. And yet, let's rely on the conscience and integrity of visitors.
