The international music festival "Opera in Chersonesos" will bring together leading soloists, as well as young artists of the Russian and foreign opera scene. The festival will take place with the support of the Government of Sevastopol. For three days, against the backdrop of the ancient city-museum under open air will be fulfilled famous arias from classical productions. The festival is expected to attract more than 3,000 spectators.
On August 19, a large gala concert will be held with the participation of stars of the world classical stage. On August 20, young performers from leading Russian theaters– the future of Russian opera. During the festival, spectators will hear famous arias from Tchaikovsky’s operas “Eugene Onegin”, Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Sadko”, “Snow Maiden” and “May Night”. The following works will be performed from the stage: Puccini – “La bohème” and “Gianni Schicchi”, Bizet – “Carmen”, Rossini – “The Barber of Seville” and many others, which are the property of world opera.
During the festival, the following will take the stage: leading soloist of the Moscow Novaya Opera Theater Vasily Ladyuk, laureate of the international competition " Maria Callas Grand Prix" and guest artist Bolshoi Theater Veronica Dzhioeva, leading soloist of the New York Metropolitan Opera Vladimir Matorin, as well as opera singer from Italy Valerio Zgargi. In addition, Alexey Tatarintsev, winner of the first prize of the XV International competition named after Tchaikovsky, and Agunda Kulaeva, Russian opera singer, soloist of the Bolshoi Theater.
