How to draw the Sea of Azov step by step. How to draw the sea and waves with gouache step by step. stage. Light-air perspective in the landscape

In this lesson we will introduce you to how to draw the sea with gouache step by step in pictures and with a description. Will be presented step by step steps, with which you will learn to draw the sea with gouache, like this.

You can draw waves on the sea if you understand how the wave moves. First let's draw the background. Draw the horizon line just above the middle. Let's smoothly paint the sky from blue to white near the horizon. You can draw clouds or clouds as you wish.

To make the transition smoother, paint part of the sky with blue paint, part with white, and then use a wide brush to mix the paint at the border using horizontal strokes.

We will also paint the sea itself with blue and white paint. It is not necessary to apply strokes horizontally. There are waves at sea, so it is better to make strokes in different directions.

Now mix green paint with yellow and add a little white. Let's draw the base for the wave. In the picture below, the darker areas are wet paint, the gouache just didn’t have time to dry.

On the green stripe, use a hard brush with white paint to distribute the movement of the wave.

Please note that the left part of the wave has already fallen into the sea, next to it is the raised part of the wave. And so on. Under the fallen part of the wave we will make the shadows stronger. To do this, mix blue and purple paint.

Mix blue and white gouache on the palette and draw the next falling part of the wave. At the same time, we will strengthen the shadow under it with blue paint.

Let's outline the front wave with white gouache.

Let's draw small waves between the big ones. Let's draw shadows under the near wave with blue paint.

Now you can draw the details. Spray foam along the entire length of the wave. To do this, take a hard bristle brush and white gouache. There should not be a lot of white gouache on the brushes and it should not be liquid. It is best to smear your finger with gouache and blot the tips of the brush, and then spray it in the area of the waves. It is better to practice on a separate sheet so that you can direct the splashes to a specific place. You can also use a toothbrush for these purposes, but the result may not justify the result, because... the splash area can be large. But if you succeed, then that's good. Don't forget, try the splashes on a separate sheet.

Landscape is a special genre of painting. It combines the feelings awakened in the artist from the contemplation of nature, and the skill with which he conveys to the viewer the state of his soul. At this master class you have the opportunity to truthfully depict the living colors of nature and the beauty of a sunset at sea.
It is impossible to be able to do everything, although in contrast to this same phrase there is another, no less famous - “ talented person- talented in everything." It's hard to disagree. Perhaps, in reality, some things are easier for us, others more difficult. But the result depends solely on determination and desire to achieve the goal. Therefore, even being by nature a person of an absolute technical profession, who has never encountered creativity, you can learn to draw. For example, you can start by drawing a landscape.

In this master class, we will create together with you a landscape with a sunset on the sea.

For work we need

A sheet of white paper, A3 format (I use watercolor paper)
Gouache: yellow, orange, red, ruby, purple, black (gouache should be “live”, i.e. soft, the consistency of sour cream).
Brushes (I use synthetic brushes No. 3 and No. 1, sharp ones)
A jar of water.

Work progress:

Select the layout of the sheet. It can be located both horizontally and vertically.
I placed it horizontally. Unlock all colors.

I've always loved watching the sunset.
The sun spills colors across the sky.
Today, like many years ago,
I'm immersed in this fairy tale again.

Using brush No. 3, draw a horizon line in the middle of the sheet using yellow gouache.

We begin to paint the sky with the same paint

Next, to yellow paint add a little orange. We make a color stretch from yellow to orange

TO orange paint add red paint

Add ruby paint to the red paint (you can skip this step)

Add purple paint to ruby paint

Let's turn the sheet upside down and repeat all the previous steps.

Next, draw a black line along the horizon line

Let's draw the silhouette of the mountains

Let's paint over the mountains. I take purple and black paints on a brush

Using small strokes with brush No. 1, draw the reflection of the mountains on the water

Let's draw the silhouette of a yacht

Let's paint, draw a reflection on the water

Let's draw a mast. Let's just draw a straight line up

Let's draw a sail

Let's draw more yachts in the distance

The final touch - seagulls

The sea... There is hardly anyone who does not love the sea. Musicians sang about him, poets wrote poems about him. It hides many secrets, and rarely reveals them to anyone. Humanity has always been curious about what is there, under the surface of the sea, what treasures, strange fish and plants? The sea does not give an answer, it gently splashes on the coastal stones and sparkles, basking in the sun. Only the sea is deceptive and doesn’t like jokes. Today it is obedient and calm, and tomorrow it foams angrily and rolls huge waves, destroying everything in its path. Let's try to draw the sea with a pencil, its fancy coastal waves and seashore. It is much easier to depict the sea with paints, precisely due to color and shades, so the task before us is difficult. Step by step we will try to draw the sea with a pencil in stages, I hope you succeed.

  1. Prepare a thick sheet of matte paper, but not smooth, otherwise the lead will slide and deep shadows are unlikely to be obtained. In addition, this lesson will require the technique of shading on paper, and smooth paper is not at all suitable for this. You need at least two pencils - hard and soft. We draw a preliminary sketch. We designate the horizon, the line of low mountains in the background and the edge of the water.

  2. It is important to show how the waves move and roll. We draw long and short strokes, filling the entire sea area. But we do them at a certain angle. On the left, the lines will lie a little wider, and on the right, they will seem to gather in a narrow bunch. Near the horizon, the shading should be thicker and denser. This gives the effect of the depth and length of the sea, the feeling that the viewer is standing on the shore.

  3. Drawing distant mountains. There is no need to go into too much detail; it is enough to show mountain bulges and depressions, fractures in rocks. To do this, just draw something like small triangles with a dark base. Show some of the mountains more generally, they will be far away from the viewer. Also leave unshaded areas so that there is a feeling of being illuminated by the sun. Mark the edge of the earth, a narrow strip at the foot of the mountains.

  4. Using a very soft pencil we begin to tint the sea. Do the shading at exactly the same angles as in the previous sketch. At the same time, on the horizon the water will be completely dark, and towards the shore it will be lighter, due to the fact that the depth becomes shallower towards the shore and “lambs” of foam appear. Try not to shade the sea evenly, remember that the sea is moving and the waves come from the horizon, increasing in size. And at the same time, each wave is voluminous, has light and shadow. The sea is like a huge silk fabric with folds.

  5. Now the most important stage– try to shade the pencil lines. Do not wash them, but rub them on the paper with light movements. This can be done with your finger or a piece of soft paper. We leave the darkest stripe on the horizon. We highlight some areas of the waves in the foreground using an eraser. The foam will be lightest, almost white, where it touches the ground or at the very top of the ridge. Imagine how the water foams, how the splashes fly, how the waves roll onto the shore, as if covering it. Some of the water will simply spread out and be absorbed into the sand, but its contours on the ground will still be visible for some time.

  6. We make the most contrasting waves in the foreground. It will be darkest in the depths of each wave, under the white edge of the foam. At this stage we work more with an eraser. For convenience, it can be “sharpened”, that is, with a sharp blade, cut off the edge diagonally. They can be used to “paint” snow-white foam. Soft pencil add contrast to the waves and immediately erase the excess with an eraser, “outlining” the splashes. If the paper is soft, loose, then pencil drawing you can easily edit this way. Work very carefully, without smearing the drawing. Sometimes it is enough to just point-touch the surface of the paper with an eraser to get picturesque “lambs”. This type of drawing requires some virtuosity, but try anyway.

Over time, you will learn this technique and quickly be able to draw the sea with a pencil whenever and wherever you want. The shading technique described in this article can also be used to depict the sky and airy snow-white clouds; it looks very impressive.

Many second graders as homework around the world, it is proposed to test your creativity, drawing on a white sheet of paper a drawing of “the sea in one of its outfits.” As a hint, teacher junior classes offers poems to children famous poets, describing all the beauty of the vast sea latitudes, southern sunsets and blossoms, the precious shade of water and the unique foamy breeze. However, not every child manages to grasp the meaning of the task by mentally imagining the picture before his eyes, and then drawing it on a piece of paper. Difficulties arise in two cases. The first reason lies in the tendency to study basic subjects and lack of time for creativity. The second reason is “misunderstanding” (lack of understanding of what the sea is). After all, not every family can afford an expensive vacation to the Cote d'Azur... that is why in today's article we decided to give one more hint to children and their parents about drawing the sea in one of its outfits.

What does the sea look like in one of its outfits?

You can depict the sea with paints, colored pencils and even felt-tip pens in different ways. It all depends on how developed the child’s imagination is. The sea can change its outfits many times throughout the day. Therefore, there are no restrictions in creativity! The color scheme can vary from delicate to extremely deep and rich tones. Everything depends solely on the weather conveyed on the drawing sheet. For example, on a sunny day, calm prevails, so the shade of the water can be emerald, blue and even turquoise. During a storm it becomes dirty and even black. During sunset - burgundy, red and dark blue.

Do not restrict your child while coloring the picture. Allow him to use several shades at once. Let the drawing of the sea in one of his outfits become truly “elegant” and even a little unusual.

Looking at the photo below, one cannot help but notice that children often use classic solutions, including up to 4 colors: green, blue, white and light blue, as well as all their variations. But this absolutely does not mean that other colors cannot be used. Any shades are acceptable as long as they are combined with each other.

Drawing based on poems by famous poets

To paint the sea in all its glory, just look at examples of work and read the author’s works.

How good you are, O night sea, -
It’s radiant here, gray-dark there...
IN moonlight as if alive
It walks and breathes and shines...

Based on this paragraph, you can get an idea of what the sea should look like. Just imagine, it’s night, the moon falls on the dark blue sea, forming a lunar path almost to the very shore. The stars are reflected on the water like fireflies, illuminating the mystery of sleeping nature. Beautiful, isn't it?!

  • And here is the sea in one of his outfits, as presented by Yulia Viktorovna Dolganovsky.

Many seas turn blue on maps -
Children will open the atlases on their desks.
A sea of flowers blooming on the planet,
Colored seas exist in the world!

Even small children know that there is more than one sea in the world. And the most important thing is that the name is different. Red, white, black, yellow - only part of what can be conveyed in colors on a landscape sheet.

Additional assignment for the textbook “Water Wealth”, grade 2 (workbook)

  • Task No. 1 - Table of the water resources of our planet

First column (natural origin): lake, sea, river, ocean.

To draw the sea, most of all you need the mood and desire to draw; skill and talent will be revealed in the process of work.

Necessary materials for work:

  1. Primed cardboard or canvas for oil painting(V in this case Primed cardboard 23x30 was used.
  2. Palette knife and brush (No. 1).
  3. Oil paints (any company): sky blue, FC blue, turquoise, red kraplak, black Mars, titanium white, golden ocher, brown Mars, cadmium red, Ararat green.
  4. Flaxseed oil or solvent.
  5. Palette.

The time to work on this painting is 3 hours.

Now, let's look at the oil painting lesson step by step.

First of all, prepare your palette – we squeeze out the paint, the smaller the canvas format, the less paint we will use. I took the 23x30 format, so I didn’t use a lot of paints.

The palette was pre-wrapped in cling film so as not to wash it after use.

Next stage– we make a sketch on the canvas, which consists of two lines: the horizon line – it is slightly below the middle of the canvas and the coastline.

Next stage– we begin to paint in oils, starting with the background.

Use for the sky:

Blue FC + White + Red(just a drop) + linseed oil.

Next stage– we are working on the background of the sea and shore.

We use paints of the following colors:

sea – FC Blue + White + Ararat Green+ linseed oil.

shore - Ochre+Brown (drop)+White+ linseed oil (if you get a little paint from the sea, that’s fine too).

Next stagethe sky is above the horizon line, the sea is on the horizon line and we mark the waves.

For the sky we use paints such as White + Ocher (a little) and rub it along the horizon line to 1/4 of the sky. When mixed, the already existing color of blue sky and ocher can give a green tint, this is even beneficial, the main thing is that the color is not too saturated. It should look like mist at dawn.

For the background sea, this is the horizon line, we use Blue FC+ Turquoise. This is the darkest part in the picture, we paint it with a palette knife, making strokes visually similar to the surface of the sea.

And we outline two or three waves that converge at one point on the right.

Next stage– we finalize the background of the sea and move on to working with the middle and foreground, painting the waves and sea foam.

For the waves we use the same paint as for the background, only maybe somewhere lighter, somewhere darker, and paint sea foam White + Sky Blue (or Blue FC + White) and somewhere only Whitewash, between waves Sky blue.

We paint the foam over the falling waves with vertical lines, moving the palette knife from top to bottom to create movement and rhythm in the picture. And between the waves we make white stripes with the edge of a palette knife - foam from already fallen waves.

Next stage– we finalize the waves and return to the sky.

We use Kraplak red (pink) + White and Blue FC. We make clouds and clouds, darken the sky chaotically, not evenly. And with this color Kraplak + White we add it here and there into the waves, mixing with blue there may be purple shades, trust your intuition and add color where your creative thinking tells you.

Next stage – we add the sky, draw seagulls and on the right we have a ray of sun due to spring clouds and a path from this light, we display it on the sea.
